Professor Carenza Lewis – School of History and Heritage, University of Lincoln
Carenza is the Society’s President and undertakes research and teaching in archaeology, history and heritage, with particular interests in medieval rural settlement, demography and landscape, public and community archaeology, heritage, medieval history, and childhood in the past. She is committed to involving members of the public in the research process to the mutual benefit of individuals, communities, society, heritage and academia.
Professor Martin Carver – Department of Archaeology, University of York
Martin is one of the Societies Vice Presidents, and has excavated, published and though about some of the most important medieval sites in northern Europe.
Dr Neil Chirstie – School of Archaeology and Ancient History, University of Leicester
Neil has been a member of SMA Council since 2007. Since 2007 he has been the journal’s Reviews Editor and the General Editor to the Medieval Britain & Ireland section. Recently, Neil has completed a three-year AHRC funded project investigating the Norman town of Wallingford in south Oxfordshire. Neil’s Wallingford project pages can be found here.
Dr Duncan Sayer – Department of Archaeology, University of Central Lancashire
Duncan is the Society’s Honorary Treasurer, and is a Reader in Archaeology at the Department of Archaeology, University of Central Lancashire, where he specialises in burial archaeology.
